Description
Aberbach Cottage is an early to mid 19th century pair of cottages that have been combined into one dwelling. The exterior features whitewashed rubble stone and slate roofs, with a brick stack on the left end and a whitewashed stone stack at the ridge between the two original cottages. The main range on the left is double-fronted, with a door situated between four-pane sash windows that have slate sills and timber lintels. There is a half-glazed 20th-century door. The right side contains the second cottage, which may have been converted from an outbuilding. This side has no stack on the right end and also features a double front. It includes a 9-pane casement window on the left, a 20th-century stable door in the center, and a 20th-century plate glass window on the right, with all openings having timber lintels.
Inside the left section, there is a notable massive internal chimney breast with a deep fireplace and timber lintel. Access to a loft sleeping platform is provided by a ladder.
