Description
Tregwynt Woollen Mill is an early 19th century water mill constructed from whitewashed rubble stone, topped with a hipped asbestos-sheet roof. It features a rebuilt brick ridge stack. The two-storey front is divided by an earth embankment leading up to a first-floor door, which is located to the right of the center. There is a 12-pane sash window to the right and a small ground floor window below it. To the left, there is a 12-pane sash window and a 16-pane sash window above the door, along with a small 6-pane window and another 16-pane sash window. The left end wall is made of rubble stone and includes a ground floor door and a 20th-century window. The right end wall, also of rubble stone, has curved angles and projecting square upper corners, with one 20th-century window on each floor. At the rear, there is a large 20th-century lean-to machinery shed for looms.
Inside, there is a large internal iron water-wheel, which is overshot and likely dates from the later 19th century. The first-floor roof features a collar truss design made of pine, held together with wooden pegs, and one truss at the left end is dated 7/1819.
