Description
Castle Hill is a building constructed from rubble stone with grey limestone dressings, topped with a slate roof and featuring three stone stacks. Each house has a two-storey facade with a three-window arrangement of 12-pane hornless large sashes set in grey stone surrounds, and grey stone quoins at the outer angles. Castle Hill, located on the left, has a central four-panel door with a traceried overlight and a 20th-century shop window to the right, which replaces the original window, of which the head and one side remain. Greystones, on the right, showcases a fine 19th-century shopfront across the left and center, featuring a recessed door situated between two square shop windows, each with 12 fixed panes. The shopfront includes plain flanking piers, a thin fascia with brackets and a cornice, double shop doors, and an overlight. To the right on the ground floor, a 12-pane horned sash window replaces a door. The west end wall is roughcast and has two horned sashes on the first floor.
