Description
Norchard Farm Buildings, dating from around 1890, consist of several structures located to the west of the farmhouse. The main feature is a large cowshed with 24 ties. To the south, there is a cartshed that was later converted into a cattle shed, positioned with its rear facing the private approach lane to the farmhouse. A cart-horse stable, built in 1877, runs parallel to the public road to the west. To the north, at right angles to the public road, are a barn (which has a water wheel at the rear), a straw house, and open sheds arranged in two adjoining ranges. There are remnants of small enclosed yards at the front of these buildings. At the eastern end of the group, there is a nag stable and coach-house. The farm also includes storage and granaries located above the cart-horse stable and the northern ranges. All the buildings are constructed from local random rubble, featuring some slate roofing, with certain areas re-roofed using tiles. Part of the roof on the northern range is modern.
