Description
Norchard is a two-storey building with an attic, featuring a main range that faces south and has symmetrical wings that project slightly forward. The central section includes three windows and a central door. At the rear, there is a large wing on the right side. The front elevation is rendered, while the side and rear elevations are constructed of local stone rubble that has been heavily whitened. The roof is covered with artificial slates.
The chimney on the eastern end has two square stacks set diagonally, and the lateral chimney of the rear wing has a single stack positioned similarly. The end chimney of the rear extension has one diagonal stack and one standard stack. External stone stairs on the western end lead to the attic, which features unglazed barred openings facing the rear. The windows are replaced 19th-century sashes, and the front gables include circular windows, similar to those at Gumfreston Farmhouse, which is also owned by Meyrick. The entrance door is a six-panel design.
The front garden is enclosed by high walls topped with an embattled entrance arch. To the west, there is a large walled garden that is now part of the farmyard.
Inside, there is a single-flight staircase with a closed string, square balusters, chamfered newels, and a softwood handrail. The floor edge features a Chinese balustrade. There is also a rear staircase made of stone that shows significant wear. The rear extension includes chamfered beams, and many of the doors are two-panel designs with some featuring H hinges. The end rooms have barrel vaults.
