Description

Kiln Cottage is a low, two-storey cottage with a two-unit plan. It is roughcast over rubble, featuring smooth rendered window surrounds and an inscribed head above the doorway. The cottage has a slate roof with gable end stacks, the one on the right projecting. The near-central doorway has a boarded door and is flanked by four-pane sash windows. There are three tiny sashes located immediately below the eaves. A lean-to structure against the left-hand gable end is said to house a bread oven. At the right-hand end, there are remains of a second cottage, which is single-storeyed and constructed from roughly squared limestone rubble, featuring a central door and flanking windows.
