Description
24 Cross Square is a shop and house built around 1900, constructed from rubble stone and featuring an imitation slate roof with red brick end stacks. The building is one and a half storeys tall and has a three-window range, with 4-pane sash windows. The upper windows break the eaves and are set under bargeboarded gables that have fretwork bargeboards and pointed finials. All windows are topped with painted cambered brick heads that include keyblocks. The central doorway also features a similar brick head. There is a lean-to on the north end, which has been extended to the east and includes 20th-century glazed double doors facing south over a forecourt. The south end wall of the main building is whitewashed and has a 4-pane sash window on each floor.
