Description
Musselwick is a farmhouse featuring a slate-hung front wall, with rendered sections elsewhere, and a slate roof supported by three squared-stone chimneys. The chimney at the eastern end serves the parlour and is smaller, while the larger chimney is located at the ridge and the western end of the service range. The building is two storeys high, with a one-window service range and a three-window main range, all evenly roofed and clad in small rough slates. The windows are 4-pane horned sashes with slate sills.
The main range includes a rebuilt hipped porch that has imitation slates and glazing over a rendered base. The main entrance features a half-glazed door with coloured glass margins. At the rear of the main range, there is an outshut with a door to the left, a small stair light under the eaves in the centre, and two windows to the right. The service wing has a single-storey lean-to at the rear, which includes small side-wall stacks and an entry on the eastern side.
The interiors have high ceilings and appear to be from the early 19th century, although they may incorporate some earlier elements. The kitchen features some roughly adzed joists that may have been reused. The staircase has stick balusters and slim column newels.
