Description
1 The Rhos is part of a compact group of four cottages, with the two central cottages facing forward and the two outer ones positioned back-to-side. The cottages are constructed from local stone, featuring limestone quoins and irregular coursing. The door and window openings are framed in brickwork. They have slated roofs with tile ridges, and the eaves and verge project, adorned with barges and finials. Each cottage has large brick chimneys that include a string course at ridge level and six joined brickwork stacks.
Each cottage consists of two storeys and has three windows, with central doors. There are dormer gablets above the upper windows. Brick hoodmoulds are present over the lower windows and over the upper windows in the gable ends. The windows generally have small panes, although some frames have been replaced.
