Description
Capel Neuaddlwyd is a chapel featuring unpainted stucco and a slate roof, built in a style reminiscent of the Venetian arrangement, derived from Seion in Llandysul by the Rev T. Thomas in 1870. The gable front includes four pilasters and a central arch that extends into a pedimental gable. The windows have raised surrounds with shoulders and keystones, and there is a small matching plaque beneath the arch. Above the central door, there are two small windows, while the outer sides feature two long windows with two-light tracery and a roundel in the head. The double doors are topped with a crescent overlight and are set within a pilastered surround that has a moulded arch and keystone. The plain sides of the chapel have three long arched windows with simple centre mullion glazing.
The enclosure railings consist of low rubble forecourt walls on two sides, topped with thin iron spearhead rails, dog-bars, and three stone piers that have painted chamfered caps and ball finials. The northeast corner of the enclosure is curved.
Inside, the chapel has a plain interior without galleries, featuring a large boarded internal lobby and pine pews. There is a curved great seat with balustrading, and the pulpit is adorned with two traceried Gothic panels and balustraded sides, with steps on either side. A plaster arch is located behind the pulpit, and the boarded panelled roof is detailed with moulded ribs and a four-pointed centre motif.
