Description

Capel Neuaddlwyd is a chapel with an enclosure and railings, built in the 19th century. The exterior features unpainted stucco and a slate roof, with a gable front designed in a Venetian style, which is inspired by Seion in Llandysul by the Rev T. Thomas from 1870. The front has four pilasters and a central arch that extends into a pedimental gable. The windows have raised surrounds with shoulders and keystones, including a small matching plaque beneath the arch. There are two small windows above the central door and two long outer windows that feature two-light tracery with a roundel in the head. The double doors are framed by a pilastered surround with a moulded arch and keystone, while the plain sides of the chapel contain three long arched windows with simple centre mullion glazing.

The railings consist of low rubble walls on two sides of the forecourt, topped with thin iron spearhead rails, dog-bars, and three stone piers that have painted chamfered caps and ball finials. The northeast corner is curved.

Inside, the chapel has a plain interior without galleries, featuring a large boarded internal lobby and pine pews. There is a curved great seat with balustrading, and the pulpit is adorned with two traceried Gothic panels and balustraded sides, along with steps on each side. A plaster arch is located behind the pulpit, and the boarded panelled roof has moulded ribs and a four-pointed centre motif.
