Description
35 North Parade is a terraced group of late Georgian buildings, consisting of three storeys with two-window facades, finished in painted render, scribed stucco, and roughcast. The ground floors are rusticated and channelled, featuring mixed architectural details such as quoins and end pilaster strips. The first floor has a cill band, except for No 43. The roofs are slate with bracket eaves, and Nos 41 and 43 have raised gabled fronts, with tiled cresting. The chimney stacks are made of brick and cement render.
The buildings feature horned sash windows, with architraves present on Nos 35, 37, and 39. There are two and three-storey splayed bay windows to the left of the entrances, complete with cornices and panelled aprons. No 33 also has a two-storey oriel window above its entrance, while No 43 features an attic window above its bay window, which has a particularly ornate apron.
The doorcases are in a plain Doric style for Nos 33, 35, 39, and 41, with No 35 showcasing bobbin beading and No 41 having a raised design. No 37 has a Victorian half-glazed porch, and No 43 has a Gothick porch. The doors are mainly half-glazed, with No 33 having a four-panel door and No 43 featuring Gothick cusped panelled double doors with a similar fanlight. No 35 retains its Georgian fanlight. There are boarded cellar openings for Nos 41 and 43, and iron railings are present at the front, particularly notable at No 43 with baluster-shaped newel posts.
Inside, No 43 retains an entrance hall with a pointed arch supported by paired columns.
