Description

Pont Llanafan is a road bridge featuring a large single arch constructed from rubble stone. The arch has squared stone voussoirs and is designed as a recessed broad segmental arch. There is no string course, and the masonry extends continuously to the parapet, which is topped with rough slate coping stones. The parapets slightly splay out at each end and continue on the north side with approximately 14 meters of additional walling. The underside of the bridge shows a central straight joint, indicating that the bridge has been doubled in width.
