Description

Pont y Gaseg is a single-arched road bridge made of rubble stone. It features a broad elliptical arch with squared stone voussoirs and a string course above. There are two raking buttresses on each side, with the string course breaking forward over the outer buttresses. The western parapet is also made of rubble stone and has slate edge-on coping. The bridge has been widened on the eastern side with a flat concrete span, but this alteration has not changed the original bridge structure, aside from the loss of the eastern parapet.
