Description
The entrance gateway and gates to the parish cemetery is a Grade II listed structure featuring a rubble stone gatehouse topped with a slate roof. It has dressed stone quoins and a segmental-pointed chamfered opening, which is adorned with dressed stone voussoirs and jambs. Above the opening is a roundel, also framed with dressed stone. The rear of the gatehouse is constructed from rough rubble and includes a segmental-pointed arch.
The front features wrought iron double gates, with a smaller hinged section integrated into the right-hand gate. The gates are supported by widely spaced square-section uprights that have plain pointed ends above the top bars. Between the uprights are dogbars, which are positioned lower and feature flattened diamond-headed finials with spiral scrolls above the mid-rail. These scrolls are topped with inverted-V bars that extend up to the top rail, where the points match those of the main uprights.
