Description

Rubble stone gatehouse with slate roof, dressed stone quoins and segmental-pointed chamfered opening with dressed stone voussoirs and jambs, and roundel above also with dressed stone surround. Rough rubble to rear with segmental-pointed arch. Wrought iron double gates to front with hinged smaller section within right hand gate. Widely spaced square-section uprights with plain pointed ends above top bars, dogbars below between with flattened diamond-headed finials with spiral scrolls over mid-rail, these latter under inverted-V bars above up to top rail with points above top-rail matching those of main uprights.
