Description

The courtyard at the rear of No 5a Marine Terrace consists of a small group of simple vernacular houses, also known as fisherman's cottages. No 4 is separated from the others by a passage. Both Nos 4 and 5A are single storey and feature hipped slate roofs. No 4 has a scribed cement render finish, while No 5A is constructed from colourwashed rubble. No 4 has a brick chimney stack, and No 5A has a rubble stack. Each of these houses has small-pane sash windows located to the left of panelled doors and on the right sides. No 6B is a two-storey building with a whitewashed rubble front, a slate roof, and a rubble chimney stack. It has slate hung on the right side and features both sash and casement windows, along with half-glazed and panelled doors.
