Description
Glyn Wern is a house that was originally two dwellings, located in a terrace of four. The end houses have gable ends, while the two center houses are double fronted, featuring pointed windows that face a matching terrace across the street. The building is constructed of whitewashed rubble and has slate gabled roofs, along with a large stone chimney stack.
On the left side, there is a projecting gable-fronted cottage that has a decorative wavy bargeboard and a large six-pane window with a painted stone sill and stucco reveals. There are signs of infill beneath this window, suggesting it may have once been a door with stone voussoirs above. To the right of this window is a sharply pointed Gothic window, also with a painted stone sill. The small panes in this window date from the mid to late 20th century and have replaced an earlier window that featured interlacing glazing bars, similar to those found elsewhere on the building. The massive stone chimney stack has a projecting coping at the ridge and has been heightened with red brick, positioned between this and the recessed cottage on the right.
The left end gable has a similar bargeboard and no windows. The cottage on the right features renewed small-paned lights with interlacing glazing bars in its Gothic pointed windows, which also have stone voussoirs and stone sills. The center of the building has a boarded door with a narrow rectangular overlight and small side margins. There is a cobbled forecourt in front of the house. The property was not inspected during the resurvey.
