Description
Hafod-y-coed is a cottage built from painted corrugated iron on a timber frame, featuring a similar corrugated iron roof and a brick ridge chimney positioned to the left of center. The cottage is single-storey and has an overhanging front awning supported by timber raking brackets. The awning has zig-zag timber eaves with a pierced hole in each board. The front of the cottage consists of six bays, each with horned 4-pane sash windows. To the left is a door located within a later addition, followed by a sash window, two more sashes, a half-glazed door, and a final sash window. The right end of the cottage is windowless. At the left corner, there is an addition that is set at right angles, which features a triple casement window and a half-glazed door facing east. The interior is reported to be boarded throughout.
