Description
Ty Capel is a house constructed of rubble stone, featuring a slated roof with brick and roughcast end stone stacks. The right stack is on the ridge and marks the original end wall, as a large addition has been made to the right. The house is two storeys high with a three-bay front that includes 12-pane horned sash windows with brick cambered heads. The brickwork consists of two rows of headers, with alternate ones painted white. The centre doorway has a similar brick head and features a four-panel door with marginal-glazing bars and coloured glass in the overlight. The left end wall is roughcast, while the rear of the house is rendered, also two storeys with three bays, horned 12-pane sashes in the outer bays, and an 8-pane window above the centre door. To the left, there is an added schoolroom/vestry range built in two sections, aligned with the same ridge line. The first section has three first-floor 6-pane sash windows with brick sides, while the added section to the left has a straight joint, two similar windows, and a rendered gable end. There is a roughcast rebuilt chimney on the slope between the sections. The property is not available for inspection.
