Description
The outbuilding at Sycamore Cottage is a three-bay structure built at right angles to the cottage, facing south towards it. At the east end, there is a pigsty. Both the three-bay range and the pigsty are constructed from uncoursed quasi-rubble stone with brick dressings and feature slate roofs. The left bay has a heck door, the middle bay has an ordinary boarded door, and the right bay also has a heck door. There are small windows located in the west gable end and in the rear wall.
Inside, the left and right bays have stone pitched flooring and are designed for livestock. The left bay shows signs of having been divided into two stalls, while the right bay includes a sunken drain for waste. The middle bay features quarry tile paving and was used for dairy or related purposes. The pigsty has a rough stone floor in the roofed area, but the yard floor has been covered with concrete.
