Description
Sycamore Cottage is a two-storey, two-window symmetrical cottage built in local light red brickwork at the front and left sides, while the right and rear are constructed from local quasi-rubble stonework, featuring brick quoins. It has a large chimney on the left with slated shoulders, and the topmost courses of the stack have been rebuilt using Ruabon or similar bricks. There are two lean-to secondary additions on the right, made of stonework with brick quoins, and the cottage is topped with a slate roof. The doors are boarded, and the windows are small-pane timber.
Inside the left unit, there is a large hearth that includes a hob wall and a very small (restored) cottage range. The soffit above the hearth is made of metal plates. A boarded door with a Norfolk latch is located in the central partition. In the right unit, there is a pine staircase featuring a boarded soffit and side partition. A partition separates the current kitchen, which includes a door with ventilation bars above.
