Gorn View

Gorn View is a two-storey building with a basement, featuring a five-window red brick front accented with blue brick banding and a plinth. The hipped slate roof has bracket eaves and blue brick chimney stacks. The openings are cambered, with blue and red brick gauged voussoirs. The ground floor windows are offset to the right, and there is one blocked opening at the left end. The windows are horned four-pane sash types, and there are two half-glazed doors, one located at the extreme right end. Hoods are present over the basement windows. The right end of the building is made of brick. The left end is three-storey with two windows, including the one-window No 17. The windows of Foundry House, which are mainly sash, are deeper; the ground floor features a 12-pane casement next to a half-glazed door, while No 17 has six and twelve-pane sashes with a four-panel door. Both forecourts are enclosed by contemporary iron railings that are arched at the top, similar to those on Nos 1 to 16. These railings sweep around the corner and step up to run along the front of Foundry House and Gorn View.
