Description
Neuadd Barn is a stone barn with weatherboarding on the northwest gable and vertical boarding on parts of the rear. It features threshing doorways on the northeast and southwest sides. The barn has been extended to the southeast, and the southern corner is enclosed by a later cow-house, with a calf shed lean-to attached. There are two doorways to the north of the cow-house and a doorway to the calf shed located in the southern angle between the barn and the extension.
Inside, the barn retains two bays of the hall and the inner bay of the house. The framing consists mainly of four-tiered square panels. The northwest gable end preserves the upper half of the framing, which includes two windows that show evidence of pre-glazing diamond mullions and diamond panels in the gable apex. The inner room partition also features diamond panels in the gable apex, with a doorway at the upper level that has an elliptical doorhead, along with two ground floor doorways, one of which has an elliptical head. An open truss is present over the center of the great chamber, supported by raking struts, and sections of framing remain on the north wall.
