Description
Capel Newbridge and the adjacent workshop is a small stone chapel with a brick porch, all rendered. It features a slate roof with a black tile ridge and simple bargeboards. The chapel is oriented east to west, set back slightly from the road, and is connected to a row of cottages on the east side by the adjacent workshop. The entrance is located at the corner of the left (west) gable wall, with the porch sheltering this entrance being a later addition.
The entrance door is boarded and fitted with strap hinges. The chapel has two camber-headed 16-pane sash windows on both the front and rear, with the front windows being hornless. Slate sills are present, and there are small round ventilators at the apex of the gables.
The adjacent workshop, possibly a smithy, is constructed of rubble stonework painted white. It has a door on the right side and two shuttered windows, one positioned high and the other low. A hearth is located in the north-west corner.
Inside, the chapel is compactly planned, featuring a pulpit and set fawr against the west wall, with the entrance to their left. There are three banks of low box pews arranged on a raking floor. The chapel's layout is a blend of the long-wall access type and the long-axis type.
The pews are made of pine and are scumble painted, with four tall carved lamp standards. Additionally, there are two pews to the right of the set fawr, which is balustraded at the front and includes a built-in desk. The panel-fronted pulpit has symmetrical steps, with painted pilasters and an arch on plaster at the rear.
The interior of the adjacent workshop has not been seen.
