Description
New Bridge Einion is a road bridge that spans the Afon Banwy, near where it meets the River Vyrnwy. It was built around 1877 using locally sourced rock-faced stone and features blue brick arches. The bridge has three segmental arches, each made up of five half-brick rings, supported by two water piers with rounded cutwaters that rise to pyramidal stone tops at the springing points. A round blue-brick cordon runs along the base of the parapet, which is topped with outward weathering stone copings and ends in rectangular coped piers. The abutments are constructed from rock-faced ashlar with limestone cappings. There is also a benchmark located on the south side of the parapet, on the inner face.
