Description
Maesllymystyn farmhouse is a large farmhouse constructed from local gritstone, featuring axe-dressed large blocks and a roughly coursed design. It incorporates small stones to adjust course heights and to fill in irregular gaps, which is both economical and visually appealing. The farmhouse has a slate roof with generous overhangs, a tile ridge, and stone-end chimneys that are partly made of brick.
The main part of the house faces southeast and consists of two tall storeys with three windows and a centrally located door. The windows are of the mullion and transom type, arranged in two or three lights, with iron casements and small panes. They are topped with stone lintels and have slate sills. The door is semi-glazed with small panes and features a rectangular overlight. The porch has three-quarter height stone side walls with glazing above and a hipped roof. There are attic windows in both gable ends and one dormer window at the rear.
The rear wing has 2½ storeys visible from the garden (south-west) elevation and is made of similar materials, featuring a hipped roof and a central chimney. It has restored mullion and transom windows with three lights below the eaves and two-light dormer windows above, also with iron casements and small panes. The rear end has a blocked doorway, with mullion windows aligned above and below, the upper one replicated to the right.
At the north-facing angle between the rear of the main range and the side of the rear wing, there is a two-storey L-shaped lean-to extension that is lower than the main part, resulting in its roof being below the main eaves. This extension has small-pane casement windows both above and below, with one window altered, and a rear door now located in the north-west elevation of this lean-to section.
The interior has not been seen.
