Description
Chapel House and Sunday School is a two-storey house on the left and a single-storey chapel on the right, both under the same roofline. The building is made of brick and has a slate roof, with a blue brick stack at the left end. The house features openings with segmental brick heads, including a 20th-century half-glazed door on the left and a small-pane wooden two-light casement window on the right, above which is a metal-framed window beneath the eaves. There is an inscribed date on the upper left, beneath the eaves. To the left of the north gable end, there is a late 20th-century boarded door, with a two-light wooden casement window on each storey to its left. At the rear, there is a lean-to, with a small light on each storey of the main range.
The front of the former chapel has a tall boarded door under a segmental brick head, with a large 24-pane hornless sash window to the right, set under a flat-arched head of gauged brickwork. A similar 24-pane sash window is located at the rear.
The former chapel is currently used as a Sunday School and consists of a single chamber with a ceiling at collar level. To the right, there is a blocked fireplace in a chimney breast (the stack is now missing), and to the left, a panelled door leads to a later chapel. There is also a panelled door to the right of the chimney breast leading to a cupboard. On the opposite wall, there is a high-level blocked opening that once provided a viewing area from the first floor of the house.
The front door of the house opens into the living room. Originally, the stairs were immediately to the right in the southwest corner, but they have been moved to the rear where the kitchen used to be. The current kitchen is located behind and was originally a stable, which is also accessible from the north door. The bathroom is situated in the rear lean-to.
