Description

Cregrina Free Mission is a former house that now serves as a mission room. It is built of coursed rubble stone and features a slate overhanging roof with flat eaves and whitewashed rendered end stacks. The building is two stories tall and has a three-window front. The upper storey has 9-pane sash windows, while the lower storey has 6-pane windows installed in 1966, with the upper three panes pointed. The central door has three long arched panels and a thin overlight. All openings have painted rendered heads. The door is set within a 19th-century painted timber porch that has a slate roof. The porch sides are half boarded, with the upper half open and featuring wrought iron scroll-work. The front of the porch is supported by turned thin columns that carry a Tudor-arched head with pierced spandrels and a pediment above. The right side wall is covered in whitened render and has brackets at the gable verges. At the rear, there is an attached property known as Edw View.

In front of the forecourt, there are attached wrought-iron spearhead railings with urn stanchions and a matching gate. A similar pedestrian gate is located on the right side wall.

The interior has been altered for use as a mission room, with the floor removed to create a single chamber that has chimney breasts at each end. The crease of a chimney stair on the left end suggests that there may have been an earlier house on the site.
