Description

10 and 11 Severn Street, Welshpool, are a pair of houses built around 1750. They are constructed of painted brick with steep slate roofs, featuring gable end and axial stacks. The houses are two storeys high with attic dormers set into the roof. They have an asymmetrical design; No. 10 is a three-window range with a central entrance, while No. 11 is a narrower two-window range, with a doorway to the left of centre that shifts the left-hand window out of alignment with the window above. Both houses have four-panelled doors within moulded architraves, each with a canopy hood and panelled rebates. The windows are 12-pane sashes, set within cambered brick heads and painted sills. Two dormers are located within the roof. These are typical 18th-century town houses that retain much of their original character.
