Description
10 and 11 Severn Street in Welshpool were built as a pair of houses around 1750. They are constructed of painted brick and feature steep slate roofs with gable end and axial stacks. The buildings are two storeys high with attic dormers integrated into the roof. They present an asymmetrical appearance: No 10 has a three-window range with a central entrance, while No 11 is a narrower two-window range with a doorway to the left of centre, which displaces the left-hand window from being aligned with the window above. Both houses have four-panelled doors set in moulded architraves, complete with canopy hoods and panelled rebates. The windows are all 12-pane sashes, featuring cambered brick heads and painted sills, and there are two dormers within the roof. These houses are typical of 18th-century townhouses and retain much of their original character.
