Description

No. 1, Victoria Terrace is part of a terrace of seven three-storey cottages built in local handmade pale red brick, featuring individually restored slate roofs. The terrace is arranged as three pairs of cottages that are alternately handed, each pair with a brick mid-chimney. There is a seventh cottage, likely built around the same time, located to the right with a slightly different front alignment and a smaller mid-chimney. The left gable wall of the terrace is slate-hung, while the right gable wall of the additional cottage is made of brick. The window and door openings have flat arches made of common brick, with stone sills.

The rear elevation is constructed of uncoursed stonework and has undergone significant alterations, including modern single-storey rear extensions.

The forecourt is small and elevated five steps above the street, enclosed by a stone wall and iron railings.

No. 1 is the left end cottage of the terrace, featuring a single front and a chimney on the right. This cottage retains its original door and three-light windows, with diagonally crossed glazing bars in the heads of the lights at both the ground and first storey levels.
