Description
Gwern-Owddy is a two-storey timber-framed building that features a graded slate roof, which has replaced the original straw thatch. The building consists of three bays and follows a type C lobby entry plan. It has a brick and stone stack, which is now rendered, and a cross wing kitchen at the western end. There is also an added stone-built bay with a gable stack on the right side.
The entrance includes a post and panel gabled porch with a projecting bracketed wall plate that supports a bressumer decorated with a zig-zag pattern. The original boarded door remains in place. The building has undergone significant restoration, including the application of timber planking. It features timber casement windows, with those on the first floor adorned with small gables that break the eaves.
Inside, the lobby entry leads to a living room on the left, which now contains a stair.
