Description

The U-Plan outbuilding ranges to the north and east of Calcott Hall are constructed of red brick with dressed stone quoins. This two-storey building features a square block design with three bays and a hipped slate roof. At the center, there is an octagonal timber lantern with glazed sides, a slated roof, and lead ridges. A brick stack is located on the right hip, while the stack on the left collapsed in 1990. A brick band runs between the storeys. The west front showcases a prominent later facade that rises to a high ogee pediment with stone coping. There are later brick lean-tos at the rear.

The window openings have largely been altered from their original design, which featured a regular arrangement of segmental headed cross windows. One of these original windows survives on the south face, while others have been infilled with later sashes or partially blocked with modern windows. The west front has a three-window arrangement consisting of very large tripartite sashes under flat brick arches, along with a smaller gable sash. The entrance features a part-glazed panelled door raised up three steps, leading to a glazed open-fronted porch with a slate canopy.

The outbuildings consist of a courtyard arrangement of good quality red brick and slate farm buildings located immediately to the north of and adjoining the house. The date "1858" is set in the cobbled yard. These buildings are one and two storeys along the north side and include cross-gabled lofts and segmented openings, although some cart-shed openings have been blocked.
