Description
Lock Cottage at Crowther Hall Lock is an early 19th-century lock cottage built between 1819 and 1831, likely during the time George Buck was the engineer for the Eastern Branch of the Montgomeryshire Canal. The cottage is constructed of brick and features a slate roof with broad overhanging eaves. It is two storeys high and has a single unit plan with a shallow rear wing. The doorway is located to the left, accompanied by a three-light casement window. There are similar windows on the upper floor, both of which have bracketed stone sills. This cottage is noted as a well-preserved example of an early 19th-century lock cottage and is part of a group that includes the lock and bridge.
