Description
Cilrhye is a 1½-storey house with attached farm ranges. The house is rendered and features a slate roof with end stacks; the left-hand stack is slate-hung while the right-hand stack is brick. The central entrance has a replacement glazed door, and the windows are 9-pane horned sashes set under segmental heads on the lower storey, with gabled half-dormers above.
The left-hand (uphill) farm range is constructed of rubble stone with a weatherboarded loft and a corrugated iron roof, featuring two split boarded doors. The gable end is clad in corrugated iron, which includes an opening that is boarded over. The right-hand (downhill) farm range is also made of rubble stone and has a corrugated iron roof, with a single split boarded door and a loft opening that has a wooden shutter on the upper right.
The rear of the house has been heightened in brick over the original rubble stone and is painted white. It includes a 2-light window on the lower right and 9-pane horned sashes in raked half-dormers flanking a lower single-storey rear wing, which has a half-glazed door and a small-pane window. The downhill range features a corrugated-metal rear roof slope and a loft that is clad in corrugated iron.
Although not inspected, a survey by RCAHM Wales noted beams with ogee stops.
