Description

Wern is a two-storey house, likely dating from the 18th century, with a red brick front and a rubble stone rear. It has a slate roof and a brick end stack to the right. The front has two windows either side of a central boarded door, all with brick cambered heads. The windows are original small-paned timber sash windows with brick cills. The interior remains largely unaltered, featuring a central staircase, match-boarded partition walls, a large open fireplace with a bread oven inset to one side, exposed deepset softwood joists, and a brick partition wall to the rear scullery.

Adjoining the west end is a mid-19th century cowhouse and stable range. This range is constructed of rubble stone with studwork and weatherboarded walls, including a boarded front to the hay loft. It has a tin roof and some wall repairs in tin, and three boarded doors.
