Description
Tabernacl Baptist Chapel is a building with roughcast render and a slate roof that features a half-hipped design. It has a yellow brick chimney on the east side. The entrance consists of a central doorway with boarded doors and a semi-circular overlight above it. On both the first and ground floors, there are two round-arched windows with small-pane metal glazing. A central plaque notes that this Baptist Tabernacle was erected in 1746, with subsequent phases in 1807 and 1835. The left side of the chapel has two 16-pane sash windows at the upper level and two 24-pane sash windows at the ground floor. The rear includes two round-arched sash windows, while the right side features a later long parallel vestry with a lean-to roof, above which are two 16-pane sash windows.
Inside, the chapel has a boarded ceiling and a U-plan gallery supported by Roman Doric iron columns, with a panelled wooden gallery frontal. The wooden stairs are adorned with classicising newels. The wooden pulpit is decorated with barley-sugar balusters and elegant rails, and there is a panelled set fawr enclosure. The seating consists of wooden benches arranged in three banks.
