Description
This milestone dates from the 18th century and is a rectangular sandstone upright with a rounded top. A cast iron plate, also with a rounded head, is attached to the front face. The plate is painted white and features a rounded black-painted rim. The stonework above the plate is also painted white. Below the plate, there is an inscribed bench mark. The plate displays raised capital letters that read: "Miles From MT,Gomery 31/2 BPS, Castle. 5".
