Description
Glyn Feinion is a two-storey house constructed from random rubble stonework, topped with a modern interlocking tile roof. The building has a 'T'-plan layout, featuring a stair hall behind the central front door, with main rooms on either side and a service room or dairy at the rear. It retains one truss from an earlier structure at its southern end, although additional bays have been demolished in recent times. The house has a central gabled porch with a partially glazed external door and overlight. The windows are symmetrically arranged, with 16-pane sash windows on either side featuring half-brick arches, and 6-pane windows on the upper floor. Gable stacks are present.
At the southern end of the property, there is a weatherboarded two-bay cowhouse with a granary or feed loft above. This structure likely has a 16th-century cruck frame at its exposed southern end, which includes an arch-braced collar and a butted and notched apex that once supported a diagonally set ridge. The frame was probably part of an open hall, featuring morticed stub ties and low jowled wall posts. Later modifications included new stub ties and a raking rafter for a morticed purlin, which raised the eaves. The roof was raised again with new rafters, likely when the granary was added, along with an open-tread stair for access.
