Description
The bridge next to the Telford Inn is a Grade II listed structure featuring seven cambered wrought-iron girders that support the ashlared-stone voussoirs of the central bridge, creating a flattened arch. This arch is topped with ashlared-stone parapets that have sloping sills and capping. The parapet walls end in piers with pyramidal caps, and on the southwest side, there are twin piers with a wrought-iron trellised arch that leads to a former gateway. The eastern bridge has ashlared-stone voussoirs for its arch, complemented by a parapet made of roughly coursed and snecked rubble stone, along with ashlared-stone sills, capping, and terminating piers. The western bridge features a near semi-circular arch made of a double row of brick voussoirs, with parapets of roughly coursed and snecked rubble stone and ashlared-stone capping. The abutments for each bridge are constructed of rubble stone with ashlared quoins.
