Description
The former Plas Power Colliery Power House is a tall building constructed of red brick, featuring a hipped corrugated roof and measuring three bays by three. The windows are round-headed, adorned with brick arches and stone sills. On the west and east sides, there are three windows each on the main floor, along with an additional doorway leading to a semi-basement level on the east side. The north elevation includes two arched windows and a central arched doorway, topped by a large circular opening designed for power cables. The south elevation has had two windows replaced with large double doors for vehicle access, although a blocked circular window for cables remains visible between them. The building is characterized by a deeply corbelled eaves cornice on all sides and a prominent corbelled string course situated between the eaves and the window heads. Numerous metal brackets can still be seen around the exterior, which were used to support insulators and cables.
