Description
Broughton Hall and Broughton Hall Farmhouse is a building featuring roughcast render over brick, with red sandstone dressings and slate roofs that are graded to the front slope. It has two storeys with an attic and a five-window range. The central entrance is framed by a 19th-century moulded wood architrave, and the building has four-pane sash windows throughout, all with flat stone lintels. There is a stone plinth, angle quoins, and a timber modillion eaves cornice. At the rear, there are two parallel wings, with the western wing possibly being part of the original construction of the house.
The house retains its original plan form with only minor modifications. Inside, the central hall features an 18th-century dog-leg closed string staircase with turned balusters and square newels.
