Description
The Nags Head Public House is a 2-storey building featuring a ground floor with lined out render and mock square-panelled framing above, likely built over brick. It has a slate roof and a three-window range with a central entrance. The doorway is set in a shallow lean-to porch, flanked by two-light casement windows, each topped with ornamental gables that include decorative timber struts, fretted barge-boards, and finials supported by brackets from timber posts. Above the doorway, there is a gabled dormer in a similar style, positioned over a three-light leaded casement window, which has drop-end hood moulds. The outer windows are five-light, with three-light oriel windows above them and above the door, each oriel window is supported by brackets and topped with a gabled dormer featuring fretted bargeboards and finials. A parapet connects the three gables. The building has end wall stacks, and the rear ranges on each side were formerly part of the Border Brewery.
