Description
Mulsford Hall is a two-storey, plus attic, rectangular house built of red brick with stone dressings, topped with a slate roof and featuring two brick chimney stacks on either side of the center. The main façade consists of five bays, accented with stone quoins and a plinth, and is divided by a stone band between the ground and first floors. The central bay is highlighted by full-height pilasters surrounding a pedimented entrance, which contains a six-panel door and a blind window above. Below the eaves, there is an inscribed stone plaque, though the weathered lettering is difficult to read; it is believed to say, "This house was built by C Matthews, tenant of J Puleston Esq. 'Tis for my landlord's good, and my own desire. AD 1746." The flanking bays feature modern windows set within the original openings, which have voussoired lintels and stone keystones. The side elevations are simple, each with a single attic window at the gable ends. The rear elevation displays an irregular pattern of windows, a rear door, and a single dormer.
Although not accessible at the time of inspection, it has been previously noted that the interior retains a staircase with a moulded rail, turned balusters, and a beaded square newel, along with 2-panel doors, some of which are fielded and fitted with H-hinges.
