Description
Cornhill Bridge, also known as Bridge No 47 on the Llangollen Canal, is a humped-back, single-carriageway, single-span bridge made of brick. It features a round brick arch that spans the waterway, with abutments that curve out to square terminal piers. On the southwest side, one of the abutments includes a round-headed iron door with strap hinges, leading to a deep recess for the storage of stop planks. Below the parapet, there is a raised band, and the parapet itself has a freestone coping. On the east side of the parapet, there is an oval iron plaque displaying the number '47' in raised numerals. The bridge deck is covered in grass and is used solely as a public footpath.
