Description
The bridge over the River Alyn at Hartsheath is a Grade II listed structure, built in 1825. It features a shallow segmental arch made of dressed stone, with both the northwest and southeast faces displaying voussoirs, flanking pilasters, and a keystone that is inscribed with the date. Each parapet consists of three intricately designed panels of pierced iron in a fishscale pattern. The ironwork is tenoned into small dressed stone piers, with coupled piers at the ends above the pilasters and single piers towards the center. On the northwest side of the bridge, there is a separate small culvert that supplies water to fish ponds and a former mill.
