Description

This is a small single limekiln built from rubble stone with quoins, standing at full height. It features a short draw-hole tunnel with a tall, narrow segmental-headed arch made of stone voussoirs. The stone soffit of the draw-hole tunnel curves down towards the rear. Above the draw-hole is a cast iron lintel, with the jambs partly missing, and brick and stone forming the head. The arch is flanked by full-height raked buttresses positioned close to the angles. There is an additional buttress or wall on the east side of the kiln, while the west side is plain. Access to the top of the limekiln is not available.
