Description

The archway to the Way of the Cross at Pantasaph Friary is a tall structure made of rubble stone, featuring a pointed arch constructed from stone voussoirs. The exterior displays rough stonework on the extrados, topped with a crucifix at the apex. The large square-section jambs are slightly set forward and have arched heads. These jambs include niches with triangular heads that house statues of St Francis and St Anthony. Flanking the entrance walk are rough stone walls that extend at right angles from the front of the jambs. The rear of the archway is plain.
