Description
The Vicarage is a 2-storey house in the Tudor Gothic style, located in the Whitford Community. It is constructed of coursed rubble with freestone dressings and features a slate roof behind coped gables with moulded kneelers and stone stacks. The front of the house is asymmetrical with four bays, showcasing three varied gables to the right and a half-hipped bay to the left. The entrance is positioned slightly to the left of the center and features a pointed head with a hoodmould and a panelled and ribbed door. Above the entrance is a 2-light window set under a gablet, which has a dated tablet at its apex. To the left of the entrance, there is a canted bay window with a relieving arch in the lower storey. Behind the entrance, two asymmetrical gables are present, each with 3-light transomed windows in both the lower and upper storeys, all under relieving arches.
The left-hand return of the house has a double-gabled design, featuring a cross window in the lower storey to the right and a 3-light window above it. The left gable is set back and includes two cross windows in the lower storey and a 3-light window above. The rear elevation has a porch with a doorway on its right side, which is sheltered by a boarded canopy. Above the porch, there is a cross window in the upper storey, while to the left is a paired sash window under a gablet in the upper storey and an enlarged window in the lower storey. Further to the left, a service wing extends to form an L-plan facing the yard, featuring a blocked doorway and two windows, along with two paired sashes in the upper storey.
On the right-hand return of the house, an external stack is located slightly to the left of center, serving as a focal point. To the left of the stack are two replaced windows in the lower storey and a sash window above. On the right side of the stack, there are replaced windows flanking an inserted window in the lower storey, with two sash windows above. A projection is located at the rear.
Inside, the house has a central stair hall that features a dog-leg stair with plain balusters and turned newels, along with simple panelled doors.
