Description

17 The Highway is an early 19th-century, two-storey brick house featuring scribed stucco on its main and side elevations. It has plain stuccoed end chimneys and a shallow-pitched slate roof with coped shallow gables and prominently projecting moulded kneelers. The facade is symmetrical with two windows and a central entrance. The entrance has a plain wooden doorcase with a recessed 20th-century door. The first floor has recessed 12-pane sash windows, while the ground floor has recessed 16-pane sash windows, both with thin glazing bars and plain projecting cills. The rear has dentilated eaves. There is also a later full-height brick lean-to and a similar pebble-dashed single-storey addition.
